Dr. Leazzo is board certified in Family Medicine—and treats patients from infancy through adulthood. Dr. Leazzo is further fellowship trained and board eligible in Sports Medicine - an area of medicine that focuses on conservative, non-operative methods of treating orthopaedic injuries as well as musculoskeletal diseases including rheumatological conditions. After several years in private practice in a small group, Dr. Leazzo opened his own practice, Midwest Family & Sports Medicine Center, LLC in 2008.
Dr. Leazzo's postgraduate studies included a residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, MI. This broad-based program included training in all aspects of family medicine in both the in-patient and out-patient settings. Dr. Leazzo’s fellowship at Michigan State University included training in out-patient management of low back pain, joint pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and many other musculoskeletal conditions. His fellowship further included team physician responsibilities including sideline coverage for many local high school events and for the Flint Generals a semi-professional hockey club. He is experienced in a number of specialty areas, including diagnosis and conservative treatment of musculoskeletal and soft-tissue injuries, joint, paravertebral and trigger point injections, pain management and osteopathic manipulative treatment.
